About Erica and Judy
Erica Shane, labor and postpartum doula in NYC, entered the world of birth in 2002. She spends her time studying with midwives, anthropologists, and childbirth educators around the globe to receive the most current and compassionate information on childbirth. Erica is part of the Humanization of Childbirth movement in Latin America where she travels bi-annually to train with traditional midwives. She is an aspiring midwife herself and whole-heartedly shares her growing knowledge on the normalcy of birth with the families she works with. Her doula packages are all inclusive, reflecting her strong values in holistic doula care, as she combines pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support as one. Judy Calabrese is the mother of two amazing girls and a passionate doula since 2005.  Judy’s holistic practice combines healing touch, homeopathy/herbs for pregnancy and knowledge of childbirth with the practical wisdom of motherhood. After the birth of her first child, she was profoundly moved by both the power of birth and the challenges it brings.  After birthing her second child in the Netherlands, she went on to work as a doula in the Dutch midwifery system before returning to her hometown NYC to work as a holistic birth and postpartum doula. When she is not with her children, she is studying and preparing to begin a midwifery program next year.
